An introduction from choir founder and leader, Jane Bibb.
Hi, I'm Jane.
In 2004 I started my first adult community choir. This quickly grew in to four large choirs, (this was before any TV choirs or nationwide choir franchises). My choirs were always for anyone, over the age of 18, who wanted to sing.
Along with the weekly choir sessions, I began running a few one day sessions at the weekend. These were very popular with people who were unable to commit to a weekly choir. They were also popular with friends who would come together for a day of fun singing. Depending on the venue, members from my regular choirs would come along (as well as members of other choirs, who fancied a one off ‘change of scenery’). From this the Let’s Sing Pop-Up Choir was created.
All Pop-Up Choir sessions are devised and run by me. There is no need to be able to read music as I break everything down and teach the arrangements by ear. I always lead with empathy, understanding and fun!
Each pop-up choir session has a theme - this can be anything from various musicals, a particular band or artist, even an era such as the 60s, 70s, 80s, even 1940s swing. (I’m always open to suggestions for future themes).
My original training was in musical theatre and I’m a Licentiate of the London College of Music. I went on to have a career both teaching singing and performing. I have a busy teaching studio and still occasionally perform. Being married to a professional musician, music plays a very important part in my life.
My passion is bringing people together through singing and happiness.
